Advisory for Indian Citizens living in or travelling to the Republic of Korea

In light of the Constitutional Court’s upcoming verdict on the impeachment trial of the President of the Republic of Korea (RoK), scheduled for Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., the Seoul Metropolitan Government has designated parts of Jongno-gu and Jung-gu districts as Special Zones.
Local authorities have announced the following temporary measures:
- Traffic Restrictions: Roads surrounding the Constitutional Court and nearby areas may be closed or heavily congested.
- Closures: Palaces, museums, schools, and other public places in these districts will remain closed temporarily.
- Public Transport Disruptions:
- Anguk Station (Subway Line 3) operations will be suspended.
- Other nearby subway stations may also be affected or bypassed depending on real-time assessments.
- Protests and Crowds: Large gatherings, rallies, or demonstrations may occur in downtown Seoul and other key locations from Friday through Sunday (April 4–6).
Indian citizens are advised to:
- Avoid travel to or through the Jongno-gu and Jung-gu districts during this period.
- Exercise caution in all public areas and remain alert to local news and developments.
- Carry valid identification and cooperate with Korean authorities if approached.
