Ms. Sripriya Ranganathan, Ambassador of India to Republic of Korea, and Mr. Moon Seok-Jin, Mayor of Soedaemun inaugurated Korea-India Peace Park.
Peace Park is being created as part of the 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the Indian nation and a global icon of peace and non-violence, who inspired civil rights movements across the world. Mahatma Gandhi practiced sustainable way of life at, both Individual and community level, when environment consciousness was not common.
A pine tree, a symbol of longevity, and 149 Mugunghwa plants, the national flower of Korea, are planted in this park. This park highlight our shared values of conserving our nature and environment by leading a life in harmony with nature.
